Considering the high school dropout numbers it is easily established that education in America is deteriorating. The number of American children graduating is far lesser. The graduates especially in the fields like Science, Technology, Math, Engineering and Medicine is so less that the corporations need to get guest workers from outside. One reason for the students to feel discouraged is the high costs of college education.

The cost of education is increased tremendously and is now beyond reach for average American families and more so for the Minority community. To help minority students fund their education there are many different scholarships for minorities. Each minority community works for its own students and raises money for the deserving and needy students in their communities.

There are special grants for Hispanics. African American students who wish to study Science and technology or some field like that can get grants from Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology. Then there is even the United Negro College Fund.

The Bill Gates Scholarships are the Scholarships for minorities for color who wish to pursue studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Medicine. Whether you are African American, Asian, Native American, Hispanic all minorities can take the benefit of this scholarship.

Getting scholarship for minorities is much easier than you think when you are planning to study any of the lesser represented field like Engineering, Technology, Math or Science. There are a lot of scholarships for minorities and you can find them simply by using your search engines. And you will be amazed to know at the number of different scholarships you can apply as a minority.

You can even search the directories of the websites which give you the list of different scholarships available nationally. These website even shrink the list for you and give you the lists of scholarships for which you can be eligible.

When you are applying for Scholarships for minority apply for as many as you can. There is no harm in doing it. It may take time but it will surely help you land a few scholarships. And don’t bother about the award money if it’s less. At least something is better than nothing. As you never know which scholarship you can land on, apply for as many as you can qualify for.
