What about graduates of a baccalaureate degree but who have not taken any of the prerequisite courses, can they still apply for the NYU accelerated nursing program? Sure, they can. However, they can enroll in the BS program of the College of Nursing, provided that they complete all the required courses before they can move on to the 15-month accelerated nursing program. These student applicants should therefore not enroll directly into the NYU accelerated nursing program but in the usual BS or traditional program. In this case, students who enroll in the program but without all the prerequisite courses can finish the course in 24 months or 2 years instead of in only 15 months.

The nyu accelerated nursing program also allows applicants who do not possess all of the prerequisite courses to take the courses in the traditional nursing program. The applicants must enroll in the BS program to complete the required courses, then apply for the accelerated nursing program. All in all, the time spent taking up the necessary courses and the actual accelerated course is just 24 months or five terms.

Polselli received a double major in Data technology and Economics and is presently working at an IT consulting firm in Rochester, NY.
